Join the online learner community

Our Online Learner Community on Microsoft Teams is a space where distance/online and work-based students can connect, share study tips, ask questions, celebrate successes, and build relationships with fellow learners across Otago Polytechnic.

Along with our Student Lounge we also have 2 dedicated channels to Midwifery and Animal Health schools.

These channels provide:

• a space to connect with other learners and share study tips

• the chance to discuss resources that have been helpful or to ask questions,

• connect with students in your local area to organise face-to-face study sessions.

Whether you're looking for academic encouragement or simply wanting to meet others who understand the online learning experience, these channels are a social space to connect with fellow Otago Polytechnic students.

 Many of our online learners continue their studies with us year after year, so joining now is a great way to start building relationships that can support you throughout your study journey and into 2027.

To celebrate and encourage participation, we're running a series of competitions from 24 September to 16 October.

Prizes include:

• A stethoscope for an Animal Health student who participates in the Animal Health channel.

• A stethoscope for a Midwifery student who participates in the Midwifery channel.

• Additional prizes for students participating in competitions and activities in the Student Lounge.

To enter, simply join the community and take part in discussions and activities during the campaign period.

Whether you're studying from Invercargill, Auckland, a rural community, or anywhere else in Aotearoa, we'd love to see you there.
