Available now, our new online, subsidised healthcare service from Pocket Lab will provide you with same-day medical care from experienced New Zealand doctors. 

Offering medical advice, prescriptions and specialist referrals, Pocket Lab will make it easy for you to get quality healthcare without even having to leave home. 

Quick facts  

To use Pocket Lab, you first need to register via the Otago Polytechnic Pocket Lab portal.  

Pocket Lab portal > 

  • Once you’re registered, you can then log into your profile via the portal to book an online consultation at a time that suits you.  
  • Pocket Lab is available to both domestic and international students.  
  • You can be enrolled with another doctor and still access Pocket Lab’s online service.  
  • The best fees are available for those who have a Community Services Card. Find out if you’re eligible here.

What if I can’t afford Pocket Lab?  

If you need to book a healthcare appointment but are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to studentsuccessdn@op.ac.nz    

Medical records  

If you would like your Otago Polytechnic Student Health records transferred to your main medical provider, your current doctor’s office can request them by emailing recordsrequest@op.ac.nz   

Your records will be transferred securely using GP2GP.   

You can also ask for your medical records to be forwarded to you directly. Please email privacy@op.ac.nz
