OPAIC graduate Ishant Ghulyani has made his Hollywood debut in the new movie Wolf Man.

The werewolf horror was released just last week and is now screening at local cinemas.

Ishant studied the Graduate Diploma in Applied Management with us in 2019 and went on to work at the High Commission of India in Wellington.

He says he’s been passionate about modelling and acting since 2016.

“Here in New Zealand, I’ve had the opportunity to work through one of the well-established commercial talent agencies, which led to my involvement in the movie.”

Ishant has played a few characters in various films and TV commercials based in New Zealand over the past five years.

“Based on my experience, dedication, and personality, I was able to secure this role, which has been a remarkable opportunity for me.”

He says his new role is as colleague and close friend of lead actress Julia Garner.

“Our characters are journalists, and in one scene, we are walking out of the office together on what seems like a regular workday. As we step out for lunch, her character’s husband surprises her in front of the office, taking her out for a romantic, unexpected lunch.”

Ishant describes his experience acting in the film as “absolutely phenomenal”.

“It’s a huge milestone for me to share screen space with renowned Hollywood stars.”

The movie was filmed across multiple locations including the United States, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Ishant’s parts were filmed in Wellington, New Zealand.

Ishant plans to continue with his acting alongside his work at the High Commission.

“Acting has always been my passion and a creative outlet for me. I truly enjoy it and plan to continue pursuing it as a side hustle alongside my full-time job.”
