2016 Art + Space
Background
The idea for an Art + Space Project arose when it was announced that the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium at the Otago Museum, the southernmost planetarium in the world, would open on 5 December 2015. It also coincided with exhibitions honouring the centennial of the publication of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. This seemed a particularly apt topic to choose as the Otago Museum had already worked as a third participating institution in the Art and Light Project 2014-15. The other partners being artists with an association with the Dunedin School of Art and research scientists from the University of Otago.
